Owned by Chemistry. [Dec. 13th, 2004|07:53 pm]

My chemistry final rocked my asshole. It was hard. I probably could have studied more, even though I did study a decent amount; I don't think it would have made much of a difference though. Chemistry exams always seem to have a way of asking questions that you have idea what they're asking, and have no idea if you have even learned it.

Oh well, what's done is done, can't do anything about it now. I know I passed for sure, because there were quite a few I know I got right. Just hoping for a B, most likely a C though.

The Da Vinci Code [Dec. 3rd, 2004|10:07 pm]

I just finished reading Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code. It was a wonderfully crafted piece of literature. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good read. There is a wonderful fusion of fact and fiction. All the factual information in the book is true; and the story revolves around this factual information.

I don't feel like really getting into an in depth review here, but if anyone is interested in mystery, theology, cryptology or secret societies this book you would definitely enjoy this novel.

Rejected by the bus driver [Nov. 24th, 2004|11:16 am]

I take the bus to school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I guess the bus was a little early today, because by the time I got to the spot he was already driving off. I tried to catch him by banging on the side of the bus, but he just ignored me and kept going. By the time I would have caught the next bus I would have missed my first two classes, and theres no way I was sitting on a bus for 1.5 hours just to go to my final 45 minute class, then look forward to another 1.5 hour bus ride home.

Oh well, gives me time to play World of Warcraft some more, plus I hate my MWF classes.

My short review of Half-Life 2 [Nov. 21st, 2004|07:28 pm]

I finished Half-Life 2 last night. It was a great game overall, one of the best FPS games I have played. I did have to use God mode to finish the last few chapters, because I am terrible at FPS games that require accuracy and the likes. I'm pretty good at Halo 2 because you pretty much just have to shoot in the general direction of the enemy and it will be obliterated.

The graphics in Half-Life 2 are amazing, some of the best graphics I've seen in a game. The faces really stand out, the most realistic looking faces in any video game. I know graphics alone don't make a game, but graphics this damn good need to be praised. The new physics engine is great as well, there would be times where I would just hit objects with the crowbar just to see how they would react. The gravity gun is the most interesting weapon in the game, I'm sure anyone who has played the game will agree. However, other then the graphics and physics update, it does not feel too different from the original Half-Life. That is not a bad thing, however, because the original Half-Life was a damn fine game.

The game took me about 15 hours to complete; the game would have taken me longer if I didn't rush through the last few chapters with God mode. It felt as if the game dragged on in some parts, especially the car part, that seemed to go on and on and on. The story is, kind of lacking. Maybe lacking isn't the right word, they set it up for a good story, but I guess they expect you to fill in a lot of the holes yourself. They throw you right into this environment and don't explain what is going on, I beat the game and I still don't really know what the hell was going on.

So, there's my shitty review of Half-Life 2. To summarize, it's a great game, drags on a bit in a few places, story is a little weird, but other then that it was fun.
